PELHAM — Five people suffered minor injuries after the SUV they were in rolled over on Route 202 Saturday afternoon, police said.
The vehicle was traveling southbound around 4 p.m. when the driver, identified as a 65-year-old woman, lost control, swerved into an embankment and struck a rock that caused the vehicle to go airborne and overturn, said officer Eric Maynard.
The driver, along with an 83-year-old woman and three juveniles, were taken by two Amherst Fire Department ambulances to Baystate Medical Center in Sprignfield as a precaution, Maynard said.
The crash remains under investigation and no citations have been issued, Maynard said.
Maynard said the southbound lane of Route 202 was closed for about an hour as the road was cleaned and the vehicle, which was destroyed in the crash, was removed.
