Weekend Planner — Kids: KidsStage presents “D.W. Counts Down to Kindergarten!” at the Eric Carle Museum

Last modified: Wednesday, October 22, 2014
As everyone knows, Arthur Read, the hero of the popular PBS animated television series (and of the children’s books by Marc Brown on which the series is based) is an anthropomorphic bipedal aardvark whose experiences reflect the vicissitudes of childhood. On Saturday, the KidStage Acting Company of the Boston Children’s Museum will be at the Eric Carle Museum in Amherst to present “D.W. Counts Down to Kindergarten!,” a play (with audience participation) in which Arthur helps his sister, D.W., learn some of the things to expect when she enrolls in kindergarten. The 30-minute show is designed for 3-5 year olds and their families and will be performed at 10 am. and 3 p.m. Between shows, at 2 p.m., Lita Judge will read from her new children’s book, “Flight School.”

Both events are free with museum admission. 658-1105, carlemuseum.org
