Suzanne Wilson’s Best Bets: Talk: ‘Contemporary Northampton in 2030’; Free Fun Friday at the Eric Carle Museum in Amherst

What better setting than Historic Northampton for a talk about the city’s future with Carolyn Misch, Northampton’s senior land use planner and permits manager? Misch’s talk, titled “Contemporary Northampton in 2030,” will focus on plans for the city’s future transportation, green infrastructure, open spaces and urban design. July 16 at 1:30 p.m., 46 Bridge St.


The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst holds “Free Fun Friday” on July 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. As part of a program at selected museums around the state, The Carle will waive admission and welcome families in for activities including story times, art projects, music — and temporary tattoos.
