Leeds man cited after collision

NORTHAMPTON — A Leeds man was cited after police say he ignored a stop sign and was struck by an oncoming truck at the intersection of Cooke Avenue and Hatfield Street Tuesday morning.

James Flynn, 65, of 421 North Main St. Apt. #26 was cited for failure to obey a stop sign, police said.

According to police, about 8:39 a.m., Flynn was traveling north on Cooke Avenue when he drove through the intersection and his car was struck on the passenger side by a truck traveling west on Hatfield Street.

Flynn’s car was towed from the scene. The truck, driven by Christopher M. Bovat, 28, of 9 Jefferson St., was driven from the scene, police said.

Both men declined medical treatment, police said.
