Three pitchers combined on a no-hitter as the Easthampton Eliminators beat the Hamp Rage 15-1 in six innings during Metro League Softball action Tuesday at Sheldon Field in Northampton.
Each hurler threw two innings. Caelin Mottor started with four strikeouts. Summer Cavanaugh took over and added another three strikeouts, and Savannah Cavanaugh closed the game with four more Ks for Easthampton (3-0).
Savannah Cavanaugh also powered the offense, going 4 for 5 with four runs scored, while her sister, Summer, had three hits in the blowout. Syndey Slattery added two hits and Brooke Pashek doubled in the win.
Westfield 6, Northampton King & Cushman 1 — Tim Horton had two hits and knocked in the lone run for Northampton Post 28 (1-4) in the road defeat.
Christian Smiarowski had a hit, stole a base and scored, while Kevin Banas allowed just one earned run in 42/3 innings.
Easthampton 7, Amherst 0 — Dakota Wheeler struck out six as Easthampton’s bats backed his effort on the mound for the win.
Easthampton (2-5) exploded for five runs in the seventh to put the game out of reach.
Zach Crisafulli’s one-out double scored Steve Moussette. Tyler Vishaway singled Crisafulli home. Ben Fitzpatrick followed with a two-run triple, then scored on Austin Wing’s single.
Wing finished 3 for 4 with an RBI. Fitzpatrick walked and scored in the second inning.
Jack Rees doubled and Max Hopley, Seth Bella-Hunter and Trevor Fill had a single each for Amherst (2-4).
Frontier 6, Holyoke 2 — Patrick Michalak gave up no earned runs on two hits with 10 strikeouts as Frontier (3-2) won on the road.
Riley Baker drove in three runs on two hits. Nolan Muzyka went 3 for 4 with an RBI, while Bailey Powers added a pair of hits.
Northampton 6, Mohawk 0 — John Ferrara pitched a complete-game 2-hitter with six strikeouts for Northampton (6-2) at home.
Ferrara also had a two-out, two-run single in the second to give Hamp the lead.
Will O’Connor had two doubles and knocked in a run, while Tylor McCallumore (double), Jesse Carlino Threlfall (double) and Ian Ostberg (hit) picked up an RBI apiece.
Easthampton Savings Bank 10, Chicopee Falls 1 — Joe Jachym had two hits and drove in three runs as ESB (4-2-1) enjoyed an easy road win.
Chris Starcun (triple, run) and Kyle Murphy (RBI, run) each added a pair of hits.
Ben Wood earned the win over five innings, allowing a run on three hits with five strikeouts. Anthony Nomakeo came on and fanned three in two hitless frames.
