French impressionist Claude Monet once said he sought to share in his art the experience of a blind person suddenly granted sight — a prime example perhaps being his “Sunset in Venice.” Head over to Art Alive in Amherst Thursday and you’ll find instructors ready to help you replicate this vivid work on your own. It’s part of a Wine & Painting Fundraiser the store is hosting for Community Health Initiative to send Amherst pharmacist Christie Marsh to Haiti in July as part of a medical team working to provide curative and preventive services to a population of 40,000 in the city of Les Anglais.
6:30-9 p.m. $40 payable at the door includes instructor, art supplies and snack. Art Alive is at 35 South Pleasant St. in Amherst. 222-5366
