AMHERST — Residents interested in seeking townwide office and Town Meeting seats have until 5 p.m. Tuesday to obtain and file nomination forms with the town clerk’s office.

To get their names on the ballot for the March 25 town elections, residents who are registered to vote need 50 signatures from registered voters to run for townwide office and one signature from a precinct member to run for Town Meeting.

So far, seven residents have taken out papers for the two three-year seats on the Select Board: Helen Berg of 902 North Pleasant St., John Boothroyd of 22 Longmeadow Drive, Matthew Cunningham-Cook of 33 Meadow St., Connie Kruger of 15 Hop Brook Road, Stanley Maron of 10 Sutton Court, Andy Steinberg of 17 High Point Drive and Yeshaq Warren of 54 Stanley St.

As of early Monday, only Steinberg, Kruger and Boothroyd had returned their forms.

School Committee incumbent Katherine Appy of 100 Red Gate Lane and Viraphanh Douangmany of 12 Longmeadow Drive are pursuing the three-year seat available on the School Committee.

Peter Jessop of 120 Pulpit Hill Road, Apt. 15, an incumbent on the Amherst Housing Authority, and newcomer Tracylee Boutilier of 30 Gatehouse Road, have obtained papers for the five-year seat.

Two additional newcomers, Pamela S. Rooney of 42 Cottage St. and L. Paige Wilder of 73 Fearing St., have taken out papers for a five-year post on the Amherst Redevelopment Authority.

Incumbent moderator James Pistrang of 41 High Point Drive is seeking another one-year term, and incumbents Chris Hoffmann of 170 East Hadley Road and Michael Wolff of 339 Spencer Drive are pursing three-year posts as Jones Library trustees. John Coull of 20 Sheerman Lane is again running for the one-year term as elector under the Oliver Smith Will.

Eight three-year Town Meeting seats are available in each of the town’s 10 precincts, while an additional 13 one- and two-year seats are vacant and available spread among most of the precincts.
