FOLLOW THE MONEY: Easthampton’s Dollars for Scholars group has a new website designed to make it easier for local high school students to find out about college scholarship opportunities.

The new website, easthampton.dollarsforscholars.org, gives students the option to create an online profile that can be matched up with local and national scholarship programs.

The site also includes information on volunteer and internship openings and financial aid tools provided by Scholarship America, the umbrella organization for Dollars for Scholars.

The Easthampton chapter’s new website “gives students and parents a one-stop-shop for chapter scholarships, educational resources, opportunities and events,” group President Steve Zavisza said in a statement announcing its launch.

The national Dollars for Scholars program is a network of more than 1,000 local volunteer-led groups that help students in their hometowns find resources for college. The program has distributed more than $2.7 billion in scholarship assistance in the 50 years since it was founded.

Information about the national organization is available online at scholarshipamerica.org.
