Weekend Planner — Onstage: ‘Really Big Show’

Last modified: Friday, April 04, 2014
Look for local rocker and music producer Mike Flood to take the stage of the Academy of Music on Sunday in the role of Ed Sullivan, the lock-jawed, gait-rolling, hunch-shouldered emcee of the Northampton Arts Council’s “Really Big Show.” Flood began playing in the local club scene in the 1980s in the former Sheehan’s Cafe in Northampton and has a long view of the Valley’s musical history that, says NAC director Brian Foote, “will make him a natural for introducing some of the region’s upcoming talent, like [the pop trio] And the Kids (pictured). Also on the bill: Northampton Councilman at Large Bill Dwight and WRSI-FM deejay Monte Delmonte, who will appear as Statler and Waldorf of “The Muppet Show.”

2 p.m. $8 advance,$10 at the door. Tickets at northamptonartscouncil.org or reallybigshow.brownpapertickets.com.
