Rosa Drummond had 18 points and 11 rebounds as the Smith College women’s basketball team beat Mount Holyoke, 63-56, Wednesday in Northampton.
Paulina Solis and Sydney Parkmond added 13 and 11 points, respectively, for the Pioneers (9-10, 9-5 NEWMAC), who gave coach Lynn Hersey her 100th victory at Smith.
Kate Karraker had 15 points, while Amber Legare had 15 points and nine rebounds for the Lyons (5-14, 2-12).
George Washington 89, UMass 76 — Rashida Timbilla had 16 points and seven rebounds, but the Minutewomen (3-19, 0-8 Atlantic 10) fell in front of 1,382 fans on Field Trip Day at the Mullins Center.
Jasmine Harris added 14 points and six assists, while Amber Dillon and Kiara BVomben each had 11 points.
Amherst College 80, Rhode Island College 60 — Aaron Toomey scored all 22 of his points in the second half as the third-ranked Lord Jeffs (16-2) used a 30-5 second-half run to pull away from a 36-36 halftime score.
Tom Killian (nine rebounds) had 26 points, while David Kalema added 13.
