Amherst College women’s coach G.P. Gromacki named D3hoops.com Coach of the Year; Ali Doswell First-Team All-American

Amherst College women’s basketball coach G.P. Gromacki was named the D3hoops.com Coach of the Year, and senior Ali Doswell earned D3hoops.com First-Team All-American honors as recently announced by the organization.

Amherst beat Tufts on Saturday to finish the season 33-0 and as national Division III champions.

Gromacki was also honored as the United States Marine Corps/WBCA National NCAA Division III Coach of the Year for the second time in his career.

Amherst won the NESCAC regular season title and was the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament for the first time in five seasons. Amherst won the conference tournament title for second straight year and seventh time overall.

The NESCAC Coach of the Year led Amherst to the Final Four for the seventh time since taking over the program in 2007-2008.

Amherst was led by the WBCA NCAA Division III Player of the Year Ali Doswell. The Richmond, Virginia, native was also recognized as the Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA Final Four.

A First-Team All-NESCAC honoree and the D3hoops.com Northeast Player of the Year, Doswell concluded her career as the program’s all-time leading scorer with 1,572 points.
