AMHERST — A vehicle window shot out by BB pellets at an Amherst apartment complex on Friday may be related to a series of similar incidents in recent weeks, according to Amherst Police.

A resident at Village Park, 497 East Pleasant St., reported at 4:59 p.m. that the car window was damaged sometime within the previous 48 hours, said Detective Jamie Reardon.

Reardon said there were no suspects for the vandalism, but an active investigation has been underway since police began taking reports in early October.

That month, windows on several businesses on Triangle, Main and West streets, and a home at Rolling Green Apartments, were damaged by someone who used a BB gun or airsoft rifle.

Last month, pellet shots fired from a passing vehicle shattered the glass at the bus stop at the corner of North Pleasant Street and Kellogg Avenue, police said.
