A fitness trainer who specializes in one-on-one work with her clients was recently recognized by other franchise owners.

Jessica Phaneuf, who owns and operates Fitness Together franchises in Amherst and Northampton, was one of four owners recognized at the Massachusetts franchise's annual awards dinner in Stoneham.

"While I appreciate this award very much, I find much more enjoyment in the relationships that we have formed and the fact that we are helping people live healthier lives," Phaneuf said.

Fitness Together pairs clients with a trainer and designs a workout tailored to individuals that meet nutritional guidance that help achieve wellness objectives. Current clients range in age from 13 to 90 years old.

The two studios have more than 10 employees.

"The best part of my job is when a client says 'thank you' for changing or saving their life," Phaneuf said.

The Amherst location is at 534 Main St. while the Northampton site is at 18 Strong Ave.
