Dru Carver-Brown and Alexander Balsley

James and Julie Carver-Brown of Walpole and George and Laura Balsley of Hadley announce the engagement of their children, Dru Carver-Brown of Walpole and Alexander Balsley of New London, Conn.

Carver-Brown is a school counselor at the Rhode Island School for the Deaf in Providence, R.I. A 2003 graduate of Newton North High School, she received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C., in 2007 and a master's degree in clinical psychology from Bridgewater State University in 2010.

Balsley is an environmental engineer with the United States Coast Guard Research and Development Center in New London. A 2004 graduate of Hopkins Academy in Hadley, he received a bachelor's degree in civil/environmental engineering from Northeastern University in Boston in 2009. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in civil/environmental engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

A June wedding is planned.
