Frontier Regional results: Girls basketball nears playoffs

The girls basketball team moved to within two wins of clinching a postseason berth with a 44-13 victory at Greenfield Tuesday night.

Courtney Parent had 11 points, while Amanda Calvo added 10 for the Red Hawks (8-6, 8-5 Franklin South).

Boys basketball

Paul Decker scored 12 points and Justin Mieczkowski added 10 as the Red Hawks (12-3, 11-3 Hampshire West) picked up a 49-37 victory Monday in South Deerfield.

Ryan Hoar pulled down a team-high 13 rebounds to go with six points.

Hockey

Keegan Downie and Tim McMahon each had a hat trick and an assist as Turners Falls (5-9, 2-5 Wright) beat Central 9-1 Tuesday in Springfield.

Skiing

Sean Doyle of Frontier Regional came in third overall Tuesday in the PVIAC boys slalom race at Berkshire East in Charlemont.

Doyle finished with a time of 36.43 seconds, while teammate Jacob Conroy was 15th in 41.66. The Red Hawks came in fifth in the North division with a score of 187.59.

Alison Green led the Frontier girls in the giant slalom, coming in 21st at 29.39 seconds.
