Madison Mientka, Sadie Berenson and Alessandria Schumacher each placed in the top 30 overall to help the Northampton girls skiing team finish second in the PVIAC South Division at Berkshire East in Charlemont on Thursday.

Mientka placed 15th overall (45.98 seconds), while Berenson (49.86) was 23rd and Schumacher (51.25) was 30th.

Erin MacDonald was the top local finisher in eighth at 42.93 for Holyoke Catholic, which was third in the South.

Liz Simonowicz (47.5) and Caitlyn Bodoh (47.62) were 18th and 19th, respectively, for Gateway en route to a fifth-place finish in the North.

On the boys side, Jon Simonds (26.09) took 10th and Eli Ayres (27.64) was 22nd to lead Amherst to fourth place in the North.

Sean Doyle of Frontier took fourth at 24.8 to lead the Red Hawks to fifth place.

Austin Herman (26.09) of Gateway was ninth as the Gators were fourth in the South and Kevin Campbell led Holyoke Catholic to third place with a 26.73 run, which was good for 14th overall.
