Nicholas Sikon and Cara Goff

Craig and Nancy Goff of Amherst announce the engagement of their daughter, Cara Rose Goff of New York, N.Y., to Nicholas Sikon, also of New York City. Sikon is the son of Larry and Beatrice Sikon of San Francisco, Calif.

Goff is currently pursuing a master's degree in business administration at Columbia University in New York City. A 2002 graduate of Amherst Regional High School, she received a bachelor's degree in economics from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn., in 2006.

Sikon is an associate with Gary M. Gilbert and Associates, P.C. in Silver Spring, Md. A 2000 graduate of The Urban School in San Francisco, he received a bachelor's degree in political science from Macalester College in 2004 and a doctorate in law from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., in 2009.

A September wedding is planned.
