The Smith Vocational boys basketball team had a long trip but the Vikings earned a solid victory with a 51-40 win over Mount Everett Wednesday.

The Vikings outscored the Eagles 22-6 in the third quarter to take control.

Allan Rivera had 20 points and 16 rebounds, while Jordan Castillo added 11 points.

Dan McCarthy chipped in with 10 rebounds for Smith, which collected 40 boards as a team. The Vikings also had 19 steals.

Miguel Lugo had eight points, but two key 3-pointers filling in for Sam Sharpe, who missed the game.
