Turners Falls hockey team wins third straight

Keegan Downie and Tim McMahon each had a hat trick and an assist as the Turners Falls hockey team won its third consecutive game Tuesday, a 9-1 victory over Central at Smead Arena in Springfield.

Cody Booska and Travis Holloway both scored once with two assists, while Trevor Peduzzi added a goal.

Will Miller made 21 saves to pick up the win in net.

The Indians (5-9, 2-5 Wright) need 10 out of a possible 12 points over their final six games to qualify for the Western Massachusetts Division 3A tournament for the first time since 2008.

Turners has outscored its opponents 20-6 over the three-game winning streak.
