NORTHAMPTON - Leaders of five Valley communities will gather this morning to take questions during a two-hour program that WHMP will broadcast live from Sylvester's Restaurant in downtown Northampton.

The mayors of Northampton, Easthampton, Greenfield and Holyoke and the town manager of Amherst will appear together in the station's "Eggs and Issues" broadcast.

Hosts for the program are station staffers Bob Flaherty, Bill Newman and Denise Vozella, the WHMP news director.

"How do mayors like this work together and find common ground they can collaborate on," asked Flaherty, who anchors the station's morning news program. "There's a kinship, I think, between them and we're going to explore that."

The station is calling the venture the "WHMP Mayor Scramble."

The guests will be Northampton Mayor David Narkewicz, Greenfield Mayor William Martin, Easthampton Mayor Michael Tautznik, Holyoke Mayor Alex Morse and Amherst Town Manager John Musante.

It will air on AM 1400/1200 and on FM 96.6 from 8 to 10 a.m.
