HADLEY - Robert "Popeye" Bonneau, 60, of 128 East St. in Hadley, passed away peacefully Jan. 27, 2012, at the Fisher Home in Amherst surrounded by his family.

Bob was born in Springfield on June 28, 1951, the son of the late Ernest and Adeline (Gamache) Bonneau.

He was raised in Springfield and educated in local schools.

Bob worked in construction and also alongside his late brother, Emil, in the car-care industry. He was an auto body repairman for many years in the Springfield area and later in Hadley.

Robert enjoyed watching sports, trips to the casino and working in his garage.

He leaves his wife, Diane (Walczak) Bonneau; his sons, Robert Bonneau Jr. and his wife Stephanie of Chicopee; and Jeffrey Bonneau of Springfield; and his stepdaughter, Lisa Kadis and her husband Paul of Granby, Conn. He also leaves his sister, Elizabeth Stelmach and her husband John of Framingham; his mother-in-law, Blanche Walczak of Hadley; his beloved grandchildren, Bailey Bonneau, and Rachel and Kyle Kadis; and many nieces and nephews.

Robert was predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Adeline; and his siblings, Richard (Dickie), Emil (Butch) and Roger Bonneau.

Calling hours at the Czelusniak Funeral Home will be held on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday morning at the Czelusniak Funeral Home at 9 a.m. followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Most Holy Redeemer Church. Burial will follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Hadley.

Donations in Robert's memory may be made to the Hospice of the Fisher Home, 1165 North Pleasant St., Amherst, 01002.
