Friday's boys basketball games: Smith Vocational within a win of postseason

Allan Rivera had 20 points, while Jordan Castillo chipped in with 14 and Sam Sharpe added 11 as the Smith Vocational boys basketball team (8-2, 5-2 Tri-County) won 54-50 at Westfield Vocational on Friday. The Vikings pulled within a victory of qualifying for the postseason for the first time since 2006.

Turners Falls 65, Easthampton 57 - Casey White's game-high 20 points, six rebouunds and four steals weren't quite enough as the Eagles (10-4, 8-4) fell at home.

Chris Starcun posted a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds, Kenny Lumpkin scored 12 points, and Sam Garcia added nine points and eight boards.

Easthampton is one win shy of qualifying for the postseason.
