Michael Passafaro and Deborah Lardner

Deborah Lardner of Amherst and Michael Passafaro of Saddle Brook, N.J., were married Sept. 16, 2011, at St. Boniface Church in Brooklyn, N.Y. The Rev. Anthony Andreassi officiated at the 3:30 p.m. ceremony.

The bride, who is keeping her name, is the daughter of Thomas and Anne Jeanne Lardner of Amherst. The bridegroom is the son of Fran Passafaro of Saddle Brook and David and Charleen Passafaro of Pequannock, N.J.

Following a reception at the Palm House at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, the couple honeymooned in Bermuda.

Theresa Lardner, the bride's sister, was the maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Ann Caban and Jennifer Lardner, the bride's sister-in-law. Isabel Lardner, the bride's niece, was the junior bridesmaid and Eleanor Lardner, also the bride's niece, was the ring bearer.

Anthony Ribaudo was the best man. The groomsmen were Joseph Lardner, the bride's brother, and Michael Kerr.

The bride is an assistant professor of emergency medicine and global health at the New York Institute of Technology in Old Westbury, N.Y. A 1987 graduate of Amherst Regional High School, she received a bachelor's degree in history in 1993 and a bachelor's degree in biology in 1995, both from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She earned a doctorate in osteopathic medicine from the University of New England Medical School in Biddeford, Maine, in 2000.

The bridegroom is an assistant professor of emergency medicine at the New York Institute of Technology. A 1992 graduate of Saddle Brook High School, he received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Rutgers University in Brunswick, N.J., in 1996 and a doctorate in osteopathic medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, Pa., in 2003.

The couple now reside in Brooklyn.
