Sophomore Sean Doyle will lead Frontier Regional on the slopes at Berkshire East in Charlemont this season.

After being consistently ranked among the top skiers in the PVIAC last season, Frontier Regional sophomore Sean Doyle is back at it again.

Doyle finished sixth overall in the PVIAC regular season and was seventh at individuals last year. After the first week of competition this season, Doyle sits in third place.

"I expect nothing but the best for him this season. He should be in the top 10 again," Frontier coach Brett Saharceski said.

Doyle was ranked in six of the seven races last season, finishing as high as third, but no lower than seventh. He did not finish the fourth race last season because of a crash.

Doyle has been logging extra training time this season, as he hopes to be No. 1 by season's end.

"I have been training every weekend at Berkshire East trying to improve," Doyle said.

Doyle is also a member of the Berkshire East Ski Team with Frontier teammate Jacob Conroy, the Red Hawks' captain.

"We work real well together, and if we need help with something we ask each other about it," Doyle said. "We also work well together helping the younger guys."

Conroy is looking to improve on his finish from last season, as he only ranked in the top 30 three times. Conroy was 14th at individuals though.

"Conroy is improving a lot and is going to have a fantastic season," Saharceski said.

Conroy tied for 10th in the first race this season on Jan. 5. If Conroy keeps up that production, he and Doyle will give the Red Hawks a solid one-two punch as they try to improve on last year's sixth-place team finish in the PVIAC North.
