South Hadley, Greenfield hockey teams remain undefeated
Two undefeated hockey teams remained unbeaten with big wins Monday.
South Hadley cruised to an 11-2 victory over Turners Falls to improve to 8-0-1 on the season.
Greenfield, meanwhile, handed Easthampton a 7-0 defeat and is now 9-0-1.
South Hadley 11, Turners Falls 2 - Eight different players scored at least one goal for the Tigers in Holyoke.
Nick Harris, Casey Baker (one assist) and Spencer Nawrocki each scored two goals each.
Chris Menard (two assists), Kyle Martins (three assists), Doug Sattler (three assists), Nick Watkins (two assists) and Joe Whalen added one goal apiece.
Jake Knowles and Tom Dowd both had two assists, while Devin Hoagland made 17 saves in the win.
Trevor Peduzzi and Cam Porter scored the goals for the Indians (2-8), while Keegan Downie, Brandon Bryant and Brandon Lenois were credited with assists.
Jack Powers made 27 saves in the loss.
Greenfield 7, Easthampton 0 - Dan Pereira and Brandon Pashek, who are both Smith Academy students, had one assist for the Green Wave at home.
Barrett Rogalewski, also from Smith, made 10 saves for the shutout.
Jake Ewell and Eric Cameron had two goals and one assist each.
Matt Sarafin and Josh Holt combined for 42 saves in the loss for the Eagles (1-8-1).
