Aviva Okun & Laney Emmons
Aviva Okun and Laney Emmons of Hillsborough, N.C., were married Sept. 10 in Durham, N.C. Justice of the Peace Rob Okun, the bride's father, officiated at the 7 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Deborah Kruger of Amherst and Rob Okun and Adi Bemak, also of Amherst. The bridegroom is the son of M. Arnold and Stephani Emmons of Hurdle Mills, N.C.
Following a reception at the Millennium Hotel in Durham, the couple honeymooned in the Caribbean Islands.
The bride, 26, is a registered nurse at Duke University Hospital in Durham. A 2003 graduate of Amherst Regional High School, she received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Goucher College in Baltimore, Md., in 2007 and a bachelor's degree in nursing from the Duke University School of Nursing in Durham in 2008.
The bridegroom, 29, is also a registered nurse at Duke University Hospital. A 2000 graduate of Person High School in Roxboro, N.C., he received a bachelor's degree from Piedmont College in Demorest, Ga., in 2007.
