Northampton's Adrienne Pascucci won two events and placed second in another as the Northampton girls indoor track team topped Westfield 62-33 in Friday night's season-opening meet at Smith College.

In the Pioneer League action, Pascucci won the long jump (14 feet, 7.5 inches) and the 55-meter hurdles (9.46 seconds) and was second in the 300 (45.52).

Audrey Gould won the 1-mile with a time of 5:30.18 for Amherst, which defeated Chicopee Comp (65-29) and West Springfield (63-31).

In the Valley League, South Hadley's Serena Sarage won both the 2-mile (12:30.40) and 1000 meters (3:30.26) while teammate Rachel Harrington took the 1-mile (6:07.58).

The Tigers defeated Athol (73-18) and Pioneer Regional (62-28).

Holyoke Catholic fell to Mahar 49-42 despite a first-place finish by Brianna Cote in the 600 (1:56.37).

Boys indoor track

Alexander Sullivan earned first place in the 1,000 with a time of 2;40.79 as the Blue Devils beat Westfield 63-32 in Pioneer League action in Friday night's season-opening meet at Smith College.

Dylan Wight took first in the 2-mile (10:17.72) for Amherst, which defeated Chicopee Comp (59-35) and West Springfield (73-18).

In the Valley League, Andrew Pettengill earned South Hadley's top finish of the day, taking second in the 600 as the Tigers beat Pioneer Regional (65-30) and Athol (57-38).

Trevor Lewicki had a pair of second-place finishes for Holyoke Catholic, which fell to Mahar 48-47.

Lewicki was the runner-up in both the 300 (39.5 seconds) and the high jump (5-8).
