Lois Lafond, warden at Chesterfield Gorge

HUNTINGTON - Lois (Clark) Lafond, 94, died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, in Linda Manor Extended Care Facility in Northampton. She was born Nov. 26, 1916, in Westhampton to the late Frank and Olive (Strong) Clark. She was a 1935 graduate of Huntington High School. She was an assembler for Stanley Home Products and had a house cleaning business. Lois and her husband Chester were wardens at Chesterfield Gorge for 17 years.

Lois leaves her son, Milton C. Lafond and his wife Janet of Chesterfield, and her daughter, Janet L. Daigneault and her husband Harry of Huntington; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Chester, in July of 1997; her grandson, Joseph Dazelle; and her brother, Leon W. Clark.

The funeral for Lois will be held Monday, Nov. 21, at 1 p.m. from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad St., Westfield. Burial will follow in Norwich Bridge Cemetery in Huntington. A calling hour will precede the service on Monday from noon until 1 p.m.
