Frontier field hockey remains undefeated with win over Smith Academy
Four different players scored as the Frontier Regional field hockey team took sole possession of first place in the North Division with a 4-1 win over Smith Academy in South Deerfield Monday.
Emily Williams, Kacey Roberts (assist), Jordan Rowe and Rose Moscaritolo each scored, while Taryn Marquis and Brie Cook each had one assist for the Red Hawks (13-0-2, 5-0-1).
Gwen Thayer made 10 saves in the win.
Danielle Duseau scored and Lauren Bradford made eight saves for the Falcons (7-6-2, 4-2-1).
Amherst Regional 0, East Longmeadow 0 - Katherine Kayser-Hirsh stopped five shots for the Hurricanes (2-8-4) in the scoreless draw.
Ashlyn Savage and Maisy Sylvan played well for Amherst.
Minnechaug 4, South Hadley 1 - Dominique Wilkins scored from Olivia Szyndziak and Liz Menard made 15 saves for the Tigers (7-7-2) in the loss in Wilbraham.
Palmer 2, Northampton 1 - Despite junior Melinda Messeck's first varsity goal on an assist from Shannon O'Leary, the Blue Devils (14-2-1, 8-1 Central) fell at home.
