Man gets jail time after admitting to sex with teens
NORTHAMPTON - An Amherst man who admitted to having sex with two 15-year-old girls was sentenced last week to four years in jail followed by probation for five years.
Jonathan R. Grim, 27, of 65 Alpine Drive, pleaded guilty in Hampshire Superior Court to six counts of statutory rape. The sentence was recommended jointly by prosecutor Carrie Russell and defense attorney Jonah Goldsmith, and imposed by Judge Daniel Ford.
While on probation, Grim will be required to register as a sex offender and wear a GPS monitoring bracelet. Ford ordered him not to have contact with anyone under 16 and to participate in any counseling or treatment recommended by the probation department.
According to court documents filed by Russell, the victims knew Grim through mutual friends and visited his house several times in 2008 and 2009, when Grim was 24 and the girls were 15.
One of the girls wrote a poem about her relationship with Grim for a high school English class, Russell wrote. Her mother then learned about the relationship and notified police, Russell wrote.
