Flood warning issued for Hampshire County

NORTHAMPTON - The National Weather Service in Taunton issued a flood warning for Hampshire County and the region Wednesday morning, as rain continues unabated into its third day on top of an already wet stretch of weather.
Both the Westfield and Mill rivers have reached flood stage, according to the NWS. Other small streams are expected to top their banks today as well, the service said on its website.
A flood warning, according to the service, means that flooding is imminent or has been reported.
Stream rising will be slow, and flash flooding is not expected, the service said.
The service warns that residents and businesses near waterways should take necessary precautions.
