Interviews scheduled Tuesday for S. Hadley school board seat
SOUTH HADLEY - The search for a new member of the South Hadley School Committee will continue next week with the interview of two candidates for the job.
The School Committee and Select Board will hold a joint meeting Tuesday in the Select Board meeting room, starting at 6 p.m., to interview Kevin McAllister and Winston LaVallee for the post, which was left vacant this summer when Dr. Robert Abrams stepped down.
The meeting is open to the public, but public comment will not be permitted. The boards are expected to choose a candidate for the job following the interviews Tuesday.
The successful candidate will serve for the remainder of Abram's three-year term.
A former vice president of Holyoke Community College and a former biology professor, LaVallee has written two novels.
McAllister is a teacher at Springfield College, where he works in the sport management and recreation department.
