Sam Tillona pitches gem for first Frontier Regional varsity baseball win

Sophomore Sam Tillona tossed a gem to pick up his first varsity win for the Frontier Regional baseball team which defeated Mohawk Trail 3-0 on Thursday in Buckland.

Tillona needed just 82 pitches to go the distance in the win. He allowed three hits and one walk while striking out seven.

Mike Ames (one RBI, two stolen bases) and Dan White (one RBI, one stolen base) each had two hits for the Red Hawks (7-6, 6-5 Hampshire).

Hampshire Regional 4, Southwick 1 - Eddie Hagelstein tossed a complete-game three-hitter as the Red Raiders (9-6, 7-4 Bi-County) clinched a postseason berth with the win in Westhampton.

Hagelstein struck out four and walked one in the victory.

Justin Camp (one run scored) had a two-run single in the third inning as Hampshire built a 4-0 lead, which was plenty for Hagelstein.

Scott Labrie went 1-for-2 with a walk, one run scored and one RBI in the win, while Keith Cotnoir and Hagelstein added one hit and one run scored each.
