Hurricanes boys lacrosse uses balance to beat Belchertown

Willie Jackson led five players with at least two goals as the Amherst boys lacrosse team defeated Belchertown 13-4 won on the road Monday.

Nick Johnson, Erik Abdow, Isaac Bass and Joe Worthley (two assists) scored two each for the Hurricanes (4-2). Kieran Presley added a goal and seven assists while Donovan Riley scored the other. Ezra Ward made seven saves.

Chris Lamoureux scored two goals for Belchertown (2-5), while Doug Lavallee and Ryan Jopson each added one in front of Ian Sypek (seven saves).

South Hadley 22, East Longmeadow 15 - Chris Menard scored eight goals and had three assists, while Luke Dilisio added seven goals and three assists as the Tigers (2-1) won in East Longmeadow.

Zak Guenther had eight points (four goals, four assists) for South Hadley, while Evan Marcus (three assists), Andrew Pettengill (one assist) and T.J. Fitzell (one assist) each scored once.

Doug Sattler made 15 saves in the win.

Minnechaug 15, Northampton 4 - The Blue Devils fell behind 7-2 at halftime and lost at home.

Colin Sawula, Conor Abbatessa, Justin Golec, and Alex Zadworny each had a goal for Hamp (1-4), while Ben Davis had the lone assist in front of goalie Tyler Williams (12 saves).
