Harvard rallies to defeat UMass men's lacrosse

The 14th-ranked University of Massachusetts men's lacrosse team suffered an 11-9 setback to Harvard in Cambridge Tuesday.

The Crimson trailed 8-4 in the third when they rattled off five straight goals to take the lead.

Ryan Hantverk tied the game at 9-9 for UMass (5-3) with less than five minutes remaining in the fourth but Dean Gibbons scored with 2:28 left and Daniel Ripp added an insurance goal with 42 seconds left for Harvard (6-2).

Art Kell scored two goals for UMass while Will Manny, Kyle Smith, Matt Fetterly, Steve D'Amario, Anthony Biscardi and Colin Fleming each had one.

Tim McCormack made 17 saves in the loss.
