UMass men's lacrosse rolls past Friars in second half
The 10th-ranked University of Massachusetts men's lacrosse team bounced back from its first loss of the season with a 14-6 victory over Providence College Tuesday in Providence, R.I.
The Minutemen outscored the Friars 7-1 in the second half to improve to 5-1 on the season.
Ryan Hantverk and Art Kell each scored three goals while Anthony Biscardi, Steve D'Amario and Colin Fleming each had two goals.
Fleming added two assists while Will Manny had one goal and two assists.
Tim McCormack finished with nine saves in the win.
The Minutemen outscored the Friars 5-1 in the third quarter as five different players scored for UMass, which led 12-6 entering the fourth.
UMass hosts Penn State at noon Saturday in its Colonial Athletic Association opener at Garber Field.
