Minutewomen fall short at Dayton

The University of Massachusetts women's basketball team got within a point of Dayton late after trailing by 12 in the second half, but the Minutewomen could not completely close the gap and fell 66-58 on Wednesday in Ohio.

Cerie Mosgrove led UMass (6-19, 2-8 Atlantic 10) with 13 points. Meghan Zullo added 12 points and Dee Montgomery had a career-high 13 rebounds to go with eight points and five assists.

Justine Raterman led Dayton (16-8, 7-3 A-10) with 12 points and six rebounds.

The Minutewomen play at George Washington on Saturday at 2 p.m.
