NORTHAMPTON - Joy A. (Goodrow) Grise, 71, of Englewood, Fla., passed away on Jan. 31, 2010, after a long illness with breast cancer.

Joy was born in Northampton and remained in the area until moving to Florida 15 years ago.

She committed her life to her family and was considered a "joy" to everyone who knew her. She was an avid bocce player and a true Red Sox fan. Her fearless attitude toward life enabled her to try anything and enjoy every step of the way.

She is survived by her partner, Raymond Serewicz, of Englewood; her two daughters, Elizabeth Sheahan of Herndon, Va., and Bonnie Grise of Sunderland; two grandchildren whom she adored, Rachel Jackson and Zachary Sheahan; her brother, Fred Goodrow; and two nieces.

A memorial service is being held on Saturday, July 31, at Sacred Heart Church, 101 King St., Northampton.
