WILLIAMSBURG - Allyne J. (Weiss) Bernasconi, 78, of Nash Hill Place, died Sunday, July 11, 2010, at Cooley Dickinson Hospital.

Born in Northampton on Sept. 14, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Jeanne (Vanasse) Weiss. Allyne was a graduate of Northampton High School and served in the Marine Corps Reserves. She served from 1954 until 1957. She was the widow of Louis Bernasconi, who died in 1989. Allyne was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Florence. Among her interests, she enjoyed knitting.

She is survived by her six children, Oleeta of Nanuet, N.Y., Patricia of Queens, N.Y., Stephen of West Palm Beach, Fla., Melissa of the Bronx, N.Y., David of Monroe, N.C. and Richard of Hamden, Conn.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 15, at 1 p.m. in Rose Hills Memorial Park, Putnam Valley, N.Y. The Pease and Gay Funeral Home of Northampton is in charge of her arrangements.
