Tigers avenge lone loss

South Hadley 18, Westfield 7 - The Tigers clinched the Valley Wheel title and avenged their lone loss of the season with the win at home on senior night.

Chris Menard had six goals and three assists, while Luke Dilisio added five goals and one assist for South Hadley (17-1, 6-1 Valley Wheel).

Alex Ortensi (two assists) and Conor Doran had two goals each for the Tigers, and Jack Sullivan scored once.

Ben Menard had three assists for South Hadley, and Max Hebert added one.

Sean Mackey made 16 saves in goal for South Hadley, which lost 10-7 to the Bombers (6-11, 2-5) on April 16.

Northampton 13, Agawam 12 - The Blue Devils (13-5, 8-2 Valley League) led 13-8 at the end of the third and held on for the win.

Justin Golec scored six goals for Northampton, and Charlie Cronin (two assists) added three.

Drew Gougeon, Colin Sawula (assist), Ray Chen and Connor Abbatessa each scored once for the Blue Devils, and Pat Harrington and Chris Warton each had an assist.

Northampton goalie Arron Mercier made eight saves.

Minnechaug 8, Amherst Regional 6 - Despite four goals and an assist by Alex Bloom, the Hurricanes lost their season finale at Wilbraham.

Nick Johnson had a goal and an assist for Amherst (7-11), Jonah Bass had two assists and Walker Nambu scored a goal.

Ezra Ward made 10 saves in goal for the Hurricanes.
