Judith Maxwell, longtime hospital worker
SPRINGFIELD - Judith Anne Maxwell passed away on Monday March 9, 2010, at her home in Brandon, Fla.
Judy was born in Springfield, the daughter of Frances Joseph Carney and Grace (McNabb) Carney. Judith graduated from Cathedral High School. She worked at the Holyoke Hospital for 25 years and then retired to Florida. She then worked for Dr. Wyley's Dermatology in South Tampa, Fla.
Judy is survived by her loving children: her daughter, Michelle Mary Melnick and her husband Rick Melnick of Deerfield; her two sons, Joseph William Maxwell and Scott Alan Maxwell of Valrico, Fla.; her grandchildren who adored her, Samantha Melnick and Ryan Maxwell; her three sisters, Joanne Labelle of Sturbridge, Anne Carney of Springfield and Grace Carney of New York City; and her two brothers, William Carney of Shelburne Falls and Fran Carney of Portsmouth, N.H.
The Mass is at Holy Cross Church, 221 Plumtree Road in Springfield, on Saturday, March 20, at 10 a.m. with a luncheon following at Lido Restaurant at 555 Worthington St., Springfield.
