Emma Rolla, lifelong Hatfield resident

HATFIELD - Emma A. Rolla, 89, of School Street, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, March 9, 2010, at Linda Manor in Leeds after a brief illness.

Emma was born in Hatfield on Feb. 3, 1921, the daughter of the late Alexander and Klementina (Sakowicz) Rogaleski. She was raised and educated in Hatfield, attending local schools and graduating from Smith Academy.

She had worked as a production assembler for the former Pro-Brush in Florence for many years prior to her retirement. Emma was a devoted and faithful communicant of Holy Trinity Church and was very active in church functions.

Her beloved husband, Anthony Rolla, predeceased her. She leaves her beloved guardian, Betty Kotch of Hatfield; a nephew, Timothy Storrs; and two faithful cousins, Louise Slysz and Susan Kugler. She was predeceased by her devoted sister, Jennie Storrs; and her brother, George Rogaleski.

A calling hour will be held on Friday morning at Holy Trinity Church, Main Street, Hatfield, from 9 to 10 a.m., followed by the Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Hatfield.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Emma's memory may be made to the Hatfield Council on Aging, 59 Main St., Hatfield, MA 01038. The Czelusniak Funeral Home of Northampton is handling arrangements.
