The 19th-ranked University of Massachusetts men's lacrosse team scored 10 goals in the final three quarters to defeat Albany 11-6 on Tuesday afternoon at Garber Field.

The Great Danes (0-4) took a 4-1 lead in the second quarter before the Minutemen (3-1) scored the next three goals to tie the game at halftime.

UMass took its first lead on a goal by Art Kell with four minutes, one second left in the third quarter. Kell, who also had three assists, scored again with 2:21 left, before Derek Kreuzer scored the final goal of the quarter for Albany.

The Minutemen scored five of the six goals in the fourth quarter for the win.

Bobby Hayes had two goals and two assists for UMass, and Ryan Hantverk and Ryan Liebel each also scored two goals.

Anthony Biscardi added a goal and two assists for the Minutemen, and Will Manny (assist) and Christian Hain also scored.

Tim McCormack made seven saves in goal for UMass.

The Minutemen remain home to host No. 13 Harvard at 1 p.m. Saturday at Garber Field.

Women's lacrosse

McDaniel 8, Stevenson 7 - Freshman midfielder Anna Beaudry of Amherst scored a goal for the Green Terror (4-0) who gave the No. 19 Mustangs (5-1) their first loss of the season in Westminster, Md.
