Blue Devils relay team places third

The Northampton girls indoor track team concluded its season Friday, taking home two medals from the New England Championships held at the Reggie Lewis Track Center in Boston.

The Blue Devil 4x400-meter relay team of Phoebe Hopkins, Emma Larson, Mia Toffoli and Natalia Paine took third place with a school record time of four minutes, 0.12 seconds. "The girls wanted to go under four and we got as close as we could," Northampton coach Nate Kraft said. "I'm thrilled with the way they ran." Paine also placed fourth in the 600 in a time of 1:35.69. She placed third in her heat. Cecilia Barowski of Bishop Guertin in New Hampshire came from the second fastest heat to win in 1:33. Brianna Tabin of South Hadley placed fourth in the 55 dash in 7.30 seconds.
