Despite scoring more than half their total on 3-pointers, the University of Massachusetts women's basketball team lost 75-41 to sixth-ranked Xavier on Saturday in Cincinnati.

The Minutewomen (10-17, 4-8 Atlantic 10) shot just 26 percent (15-of-57) from the field for the game, but made nearly one-third of their 3-point tries (8-of-25).

The Musketeers (22-3, 12-0 A-10) led by as many as 18 points in the first half, and they were ahead 29-13 at halftime.

No one scored in double figures for UMass, which was led by Stephanie Lawrence with nine points and four rebounds.

The Minutewomen will return home to host Saint Joseph's on senior night at the Mullins Center at 7 p.m. Thursday.
