Holyoke heads to tourney with shutout
The Holyoke hockey team cruised into the postseason with a 5-0 victory over Chicopee Comp in its regular-season finale on Friday.
Brian Rokowski scored two goals for Holyoke (18-1-1, 9-0-1 Wright), and Kevin Stefanik added a goal and two assists.
Spencer Nawrocki recorded a goal and an assist for the Knights, and Nate Standen scored the other goal.
Tadd Goff had 18 saves in goal for Holyoke which is expected to be the top seed in the Western Massachusetts Division 3A Tournament.
Seeds will be announced Saturday at Agawam High School.
Greenfield 2, Easthampton 0 - The Eagles (5-9-5, 0-6-2 Fay) lost in Greenfield in their final game of the season.
Easthampton goalie Matt Dziok made eight saves as the Eagles were outshot 26-20 by the Green Wave (4-11-2, 1-5-2, Fay).
It was the final high school game for Eagles seniors Dziok, Greg Pion, Shawn Warren, Zach Swanson, Kyle Judd, Corey Smith, Andrew Lafosse and Brent Skrzypek.
