Frances Kochapski, 83, loved to cook and sew

NORTHAMPTON - Frances (Kozikowski) Kochapski, 83, of 282 South St., passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday morning, Feb. 16, 2010.

She was born in Sunderland on Dec. 3, 1926, the daughter of the late Alexander and Helen (Goscenski) Kozikowski. She was raised and educated in Sunderland, attending schools in Sunderland and Amherst. Frances was a homemaker, who enjoyed taking care of her family. She especially enjoyed cooking and loved to crochet and sew. She was a communicant of the former St. John Cantius Church in Northampton.

Her beloved husband, Ronald Kochapski, passed away in 2006. She leaves her children, Ronald Kochapski Jr. and his wife Barbara of Pittsfield, Carol Dunn and her partner Michael Meehan of Easthampton, Joann Gessing and her husband Greg Bartus of Hatfield and Robin MacDonald and her husband Kenneth of Whately; her beloved grandchildren, Frank Gessing, Matt Dunn and his wife Amy, Nathan Dunn, Taylor Aubin, Adrienne Aubin, Sara Powell and her husband Jabari, Amy Aldridge and her husband, Jeff, and Daniel Kochapski; and four great-grandchildren, Aiden and Natalie Aldridge, Jackson and Madison Powell. She also leaves her brother, Frank Kozikowski and his wife Angela; and her sisters, Roslyn Szarkowski and her husband Ralph of Hadley, Helen Jablonski of Scituate, Barbara Ziemlack of Hudson and Sandra Southard and her husband Jim of Madison, Wis.; and her beloved dog, Trisha. She was predeceased by a sister, Stella Kieras.

Calling hours at the Czelusniak Funeral Home of Northampton will be on Thursday afternoon from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday morning from the Czelusniak Funeral Home at 8 a.m. followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at the Church at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 99 King St., Northampton (formerly Sacred Heart Church) followed by burial in St. Mary's Cemetery in Northampton.
