DelValle scores 25 as Orioles defeat Gaels

One night after scoring a career-high 26 points, Belchertown junior forward Brianna DelValle netted 25 in a 52-32 win over Holyoke Catholic on Saturday.

DelValle scored 19 of her points in the first half to help the Orioles (13-5) jump out to a 29-15 lead at halftime.

The Gaels (9-9) made things interesting in the second half, however, storming back to cut the deficit to two, but ran out of gas down the stretch.

Olivia Pare had a double-double for Belchertown, which lost at Monument Mountain Friday night. DelValle added nine rebounds in the win.

The Orioles held Holyoke Catholic standout Kaitlyn Veit, who had scored 78 points in her previous three games, to just five.

Annie Broda led the Gaels with 17 points, matching a career-high.
