NEWTON - Dr. Jeter Charles Hall Jr., 82, died Thursday, Jan 28, 2010, at Newton-Wellesley Hospital following a long bout with Alzheimer's disease. His wife, Laura Lee (Simmons) Hall, predeceased him on Sept. 5, 2004.

Following that he enlisted in the Army and spent more than a year in occupied Korea. He was involved in fundraising for the YMCA of Holyoke and was on the Holyoke Scholarship Fund Awards Committee. Although his name was Jeter and not Peter as some have confused it with, he was a passionate Red Sox fan through and through.

Hall III and Jonathan Cooper Hall, both of Chicopee, and Gary Mitchell Hall of South Hadley; a daughter, Jennifer Lee Graffman of Needham; a brother, Nathan Cooper Hall of Bristol, Tenn.; and six grandchildren, Jeter C Hall IV, Rachel Hall, LauraLee Graffman, Jessica Hall, Elijah Hall and Sarah Hall.
