Mahar too much for Easthampton

Mahar Regional 64, Easthampton 41 - The Eagles (13-2, 12-1 Hampshire East) had their worst performance of the season and the Senators made them pay for it in Orange.

"They totally dominated us on the boards. They got a lot of offensive rebounds and a lot of put-backs," said Easthampton coach Brian Miller. "We had a rough shooting night."

Mahar (11-3, 11-2 Hampshire East) held Brendan Rios to just 13 points and no other Eagle reached double-digits.

Gateway Regional 64, Granby 57 - Jeremy Tanguay made a 3-pointer with 2½ minutes to go that put the Gators (6-8) on top, and they were able to hold off the Rams (5-9) the rest of the way to get the victory on the road.

Granby led throughout the first three quarters, but could not overcome the third 3-pointer of the night by Tanguay (15 points).

Gabe Craig scored a game-high 19 points, pulled down six rebounds and had four steals for Gateway, and J.J. Edinger added 11 points.

Granby made 12 3-pointers, led by Corey Baker who made four on his way to 16 points. Andy Gifford (three 3-pointers) added 11 for the Rams.
